Merry Christmas / Long Reads #2
Merry Christmas, one and all! All being well, my review of the Doctor Who Christmas special should be up at some point between broadcast and New Year's Eve. Until then, it's been a few months since I last rounded up all the blog's long (or long-ish) reads, so now seems a good time to do so with the new articles written since then. Take the two posts together for a sort of review of the year, if you like.
Broken Gamebooks #5: Steve Jackson's Sorcery!: Not just one, but four gamebooks have their logistical flaws ruthlessly listed.
Star Wars on the BBC: Mentions of a well-known sci-fi franchise on the UK's national broadcaster.
Scenes From the Dwarf: Analysis of a book published to tie in with a BBC sitcom in 1996.
Prince of Shadows: Some rather obscure gamebooks are reviewed.
The Blackadder Radio Times Synopsis Guide: Self-explanatory.
Dr Who and the Regenerationometer / Change and Decay: The nature of change in Doctor Who is examined.
Exit (Fashion) Pollice: A guide to BBC election night graphics.
Robot Draws: A children's magazine published in 2001 is mocked.
Repeat Offenders: On the same show using the same actors more than once.
Edit Wars #5: A musing on health and safety.
Just Ask For South By South East: The mysteries of an inexplicably obscure television series.
Life is Rough When You Lose Your License: When computer games aimed at small children go bad.
